Our 2024 Peacock Lane Cottage rental season will kick off April 20-November 23, 2024————————————
Welcome to Little Gasparilla Island located on the Southwest Coast of Florida. If you have never been here before, you are in for an amazing experience and a memory making vacation.
Little Gasparilla Island is a private, bridge-less barrier island accessible “only” by boat. Take a 15 minute Water Taxi (runs 365 days a year) or bring your own boat (up to 26′) to our deep water dock that is shared with several other properties. Please let us know if you will be bringing a boat so that we can provide you with additional information.
Water Taxi ‘day rates’ are from 8:30am -5:00pm. Day rates have a minimum charge of 25.00 whether it’s one or two people. If you have more people in your party, it is an additional $15.00 per each person each way. Later or earlier pickups always available with a surcharge. We strongly suggest you secure your arrival and departure reservations on the Water Taxi 4 + weeks prior to your arrival date as the captain can only take six passengers at a time.
Peacock Lane Cottage has a 4:00pm check -in time and a 10:00am check-out time.
Park at Eldred’s Marina located on the Boca Grande Causeway. (8.00/day). If you are flying, we can suggest several excellent car services. They will pick you up at any of the 4 airports (Sarasota, Ft. Myers, Punta Gorda or Tampa) and bring you right to the marina so you do not have to rent a car and pay for parking.
Just a few steps from the cottage, you have 7 miles of secluded, unspoiled beach to experience. Collect shells or sharks teeth, grab your fishing rod or do nothing at all; leave all your cares behind.
There are ‘no’ stores or cars on Little Gasparilla Island, only sandy paths that you can explore by foot or golf cart. (Golf cart is not necessary)
One of our island residents has a gift shop/gallery, only a 5 minute walk from the cottage.
Enjoy the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the incredible nightly sunsets.
Peacock Lane Cottage offers both a private front yard and large back deck surrounded by many coconut palms which offer a cool breeze and shade. Fall asleep each night to the sound of the surf.
Getting propane to the island is a bit of a challenge so we offer a large Weber Charcoal grill. Bring your briquettes and fire up the BBQ for a tasty dinner on the shore!
Pack ‘very’ light as the cottage has an extra large washer/dryer. Bring all your food and goodies with you or use our excellent grocery service with Evan Merritt who will have the groceries at the cottage upon your arrival (Contact us for details.)
If you need some entertainment, or other off-island activity, you are only a 15 minute ride by Water Taxi back to the marina on the mainland.
Our Island drinking water is excellent and there is no need to bring bottled water with you as it is tested daily and is delicious. We have no recycling on the island so this is a way to lighten your footprint.
In early 2023 we upgraded our Wi-Fi Internet. Details will be in the Welcome Letter which you will receive 3–4 weeks prior to your arrival.
We offer a ‘complimentary’ Concierge/Greeter on your ‘arrival day’ with a young Island man who will meet you at the dock. Bret will bring you, your luggage and groceries to the cottage. (Additional details upon booking)
We now offer complimentary trash pickup on Friday mornings.
Get a world class tan, collect shells and sharks teeth on one of the best shelling beaches around, (Especially after a storm).
Make the best sand castles ever, sit on the porch swing and hold your lover’s hand, explore, eat, drink, laugh, read, nap, swim, run, or have a treasure hunt!
Finally for the fishermen out there, we are the epicenter of the state’s best inshore and offshore fishing; tarpon, snook, redfish, shark, grouper and snapper just to name a few. Fishing excursions available.
Great fishing from the dock or right on the Gulf! Bring your fishing poles and fire up the BBQ grill!
We allow “1” well behaved pup (60Lb. or under) with a non-refundable $100.00 pet fee. We will send you our simple pet etiquette guidelines upon booking. Positively NO aggressive breeds (Pit bulls, etc) or extra-large dogs permitted. Sorry, no cats. *We MUST know if you are bringing a pup* Sadly, due to some past pup owners not respecting our pup policy, or the Island rules, we will ask you to sign an acknowledgment indicating you will follow our simple pup guidelines.
If you are a smoker this will ‘NOT’ be the cottage for you as this is a 100% NON-SMOKING property both inside and out.
PLEASE NOTE: Our weeks run SATURDAY – SATURDAY and have a 7 night minimum. We may have the ability to offer a 4-5 night minimum outside of Saturday to Saturday during the “off season”. (Late fall – Mid November.)
Peacock Lane Cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 overnight guests and ask that you respect our ‘limit of 4’ policy. Total includes adults, children and toddlers.
Please note: We require a signed rental agreement once you have made your reservation. Rental agreement will have all the particulars of the cottage: Cottage address, our names and address, what our responsibilities are as owners, payment due dates, etc. This will be emailed to you shortly after you reserve your week.
Please note, there is a $200 up-charge over July 4 week due to high demand.
We welcome everyone however our cottage is not handicap accessible as there are only deep, soft, sandy paths and motorized scooters or wheel chairs will not be able to move about. We apologize for any inconvenience, however, we can offer some great alternate suggestions for nearby beach locations which will be better suited for your personal needs.
We look forward to having you and will email our Welcome Letter to you several weeks prior to your visit.
Thank you and Welcome to the Magical Little Gasparilla Island.
